Covenant House, Canadas largest shelter for homeless youth, has gone green. An innovative new roof top garden project, designed to provide unique and inspiring opportunities, completed in June, 2008 and officially opened September 10, 2008. Using Bioroof's Eco System design and installed by Landsource Organix Green Roof Division, the 7000 square foot garden is truly an outdoor oasis. Some 5000 perennials, raised vegetable planters, a wetland area, a fish pond with a fountain, and overhead trellis are just some of the features of this outdoor classroom. Not only does it provide educational and vocational opportunities through hands-on experiences, but a therapeutic and tranquil haven for the shelter's youth. You are invited to see it for yourself. Just contact sales@bioroof.com and one of our associates will gladly make arrangements.

New York City Parks and Recreation
BioLite and Ecosystem Installation.
Two test plots were installed on the New York Parks and Recreation Building featuring the lower cost BioLite System as well as the high performance EcoSystem. Volunteers from Recover Greenroofs (Boston Certified installer), Adie Jewett (Bioroof Agent Eastern US), along with members of the parks and recreation skills training program all pitched in to make the day a great success. Because of the late season installation, planting will be done in the spring - pre-vegetated sedum for the BioLite System and a seeded apllication of Bioroof's Northern Meadow mix for the EcoSystem. Many thanks to Artie Rollins from NYC Parks to get this opportunity going and all the NYC Parks staff for getting it done.
